Pickleball in Prison ™ demonstrates the positive effect the sport has within prison walls.

Impact. This documentary not only tells an engaging and unique story about America’s fastest growing sport, it will serve also as a vitally needed recruiting tool for new volunteers, showing that Roger BelAir’s program is safe and gratifying (as one volunteer said, “Teaching pickleball in prison improves my life.”). In addition, this documentary will make it easier for this program to “get the paddle through the door,” by inspiring wardens to welcome pickleball and volunteer coaches into their facilities. Together, Roger and his volunteers have brought the program into 56 prisons in 23 states – there are close to 4000 state and federal prisons, so they have a long way to go, and this film is the rallying cry.
